Unfinished Wood

All signs are shipped unfinished because painted wood pieces do not travel well through the mail and may arrive chipped, scratched, or damaged.

The unfinished birch wood has a light, natural wood tone and is still beautiful enough to hang as-is for a soft, neutral look. Painting is completely optional.

The painted color options shown in the product photos are for inspiration only and demonstrate what the sign could look like once painted. Your sign will arrive in its natural, unfinished wood tone.

Painting Recommendations

For the best results, we recommend using a can of flat spray paint.

Lay each piece flat on a protected surface and apply light, even coats. Allow each coat to dry before applying another.

Do not overspray. Applying too much paint at once may cause the finish to become gummy, uneven, or too thick.

Hanging Suggestions

Our favorite and most cost-effective way to hang our wall quotes is with Loctite mounting putty.

Please read and follow all Loctite instructions before hanging your sign. Wall texture, paint finish, humidity, and other surface conditions may affect adhesion.

When hanging, we recommend using painter’s tape and a laser level to help plan your spacing and keep each word straight.

If you purchase the optional hanging hardware from us, you will receive Loctite mounting putty. You may also purchase your own locally.
